Shipments and deliveries ready for 5 more hospitals!! Whew!! BOWS & BALLCAPS Fall Break work is done!!
Such a wonderful fall break week!! We adopted our 8th partner hospital at St. Louis Childern's Hospital. We had such a wonderful visit meeting some of their sweet Child Life Specialists who do such amazing work with the kids there. And we also got to meet their Clown Doctor... so fun!! And we had wonderful meetings at St. Jude's Children's Hospital earlier in the week as I already mentioned. I always love when we get to visit the hospitals in person and meet the people who do so much for these kids and also get to meet some of the kids and families in person. I'm so thankful for such a great week!!
Our first fall break road trip visit was to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. So this is in the category of things that go wrong that turn out to be perfectly right. We had a miscommunication with our meeting yesterday that led to us not being able to meet with the woman we had the meeting scheduled with who happens to be the woman we've been working with for the last nearly two years. But because of the mishap, we met the amazing Kathy Cox who is the Guest Liason For... Volunteer Services at the hospital and is absolutely one of the sweetest souls you will ever meet. And then today, we got to go back and meet with our original contact and get a behind the scenes look at the donations area and all of the amazing work they do at this hospital. I have always been a supporter of St. Jude, but after this visit, I am completely in awe of this organization and all that they do for every child literally in the world with cancer. Any chance you have, please, please give and support all that they do. Every person that works there is filled with hope and joy for these families. Just wonderful!! We are so blessed to be able to do a very tiny little part to help these kids.
Fall break for us means a BOWS & BALLCAPS road trip to visit two hospitals! We've been tagging bows and hats all weekend to get ready. Can't wait to see our friends at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and to adopt our 8th hospital at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Were so excited!! It's going to be an amazing week!
Sending out some special care packages this weekend to kids in West Virginia, Mississippi and Kentucky. I hope they love them and that they bring smiles to their faces. These boxes are stuffed full!!
Thank you so much to the Newcomers and Community club of Sumner County for inviting me to come speak at their luncheon today. It was a perfect month for them to choose BOWS & BALLCAPS as their feature charity since it's Alopecia Awareness Month and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The ladies were so sweet, and it was great getting to talk to so many of them. And thank you all for the wonderful donations!! Thank you Lynda Evjen and Carrol Pitts for inviting me!!
Look what arrived this week...more hats from LIDS...yay!! Love all the fedoras and flat brim hats. The hospitals will love these!! And I especially love this turquoise one...my favorite color.
