BOWS & BALLCAPS is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions to BOWS & BALLCAPS are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. There are several ways you can donate or support BOWS & BALLCAPS:
1) You can make a monetary donation to the charity. This will enable us to buy bows, ballcaps and other accessories to give out to children with cancer during our visits to different children's hospitals or to include in our Care Packages. 2) Are you an Amazon shopper? If so, you can use their charitable website, www.smile.amazon.com, and select BOWS & BALLCAPS as your supporting charity. It works exactly the same as the regular Amazon site... same prices, same selection with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization. So select BOWS & BALLCAPS as your supporting charity, and the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to our charity. 4) You can donate items to be included in our Care Packages. These are packages we send to kids around the country who have lost their hair either from cancer treatments or Alopecia.. We include bows and ballcaps in the packages, but we also need other items. Here is a list of items we need:
-Small stuffed animals (Beanie Boos are the perfect size!)
-Comfy socks
-Small games for kids to play while at their treatments (Farkle, card games, magic tricks, game books, etc.)
-Small journals and pens
-Small bottles of hand sanitizer or chapstick/lip balm
-Packs of gum and mints
-Gift cards like I-tunes or for chain restaurants like McDonald's or Wendy's
5) You can donate actual bows, ballcaps, hats or other accessories. All items must be new. You can send any items to the address listed above or contact us through the CONTACT US link on the website so we can coordinate a pick-up.
6) You can plan a group service project to make Tie Fleece Blankets. Here's what you will need:
-Buy 1 1/2 yards of two different fleece fabrics
-Layer the fleece fabrics on top of each other
-Cut 1" wide strips that are 5" long all around the border of the blanket
-Tie the two strips together all the way around the border
7) You can invite Hannah to come talk to your class, organization or group about BOWS & BALLCAPS. She will happily come speak to your class, Girl Scout troop, church group, etc. about how BOWS & BALLCAPS got started, what it's all about, what it's like to be different, how to turn your differences into your strengths, and how we can start helping others at an early age.
