TIME FOR A HAIR CUT!

Thank so much to the best Aunt ever!!! My Aunt Renee is cutting her hair just for me!! She is cutting her hair and donating it to Locks of Love for the 3rd time this Friday. But this time, she is taking it one step further. Not only is she making an amazing donation to a great organization, she is also asking for donations per inch to be made to BOWS & BALLCAPS to help support all that we do for kids without hair. How much would you donate per inch?? $2, $5 or even $10 or $20 per inch?? She's cutting 10 inches. She's been growing her hair for a long time!! WORD OF THE WEEK: FOOD

This week's word of the week if FOOD! I had a great Thanksgiving weekend spending time with family and eating lots of FOOD. Mmmmm it was all so good. But it also got me thinking about the true reason we all come together to eat all this delicious food. Unfotunately, we all get so meserized by all the food, we forget why we're together. To spent time sharing with each other. The other day my mom told me about something our friends did that truly inspired me. They took all of the money they would use on a Thanksgiving meal, and made 50 lunch bags, and then drove around downtoown and gave them to homeless people that wouldn't be getting a Thanksgiving meal. The actual definition of food is any nutritious substance you eat or drink in order to maintain life and growth. Sometimes it's the things that we don't eat that help us grow in the biggest way. So, this week I encourage all of you to take what you don't need, and do something good for another person.

WORD OF THE WEEK - Thankfulness

This week's word of the week is THANKFULNESS. It seems appropriate for this week of Thanksgiving. The actual definition of thankfulness is feeling or expressing gratitude and appreciation. And it's easy to say the things we are thankful for without much thought. But what does it really and truly mean to be thankful? Are you truly thankful for things you have? Or do you become thankful for them as soon as you lose them? Or maybe you realize you are thankful when you get something you've never had? Like hair. Or food. Or a better home. Or when you lose a close friend because of a fight. Or you lose your mom or dad or grandparent. We take so many things for granted on a daily basis. The most important thing we need to remember is to just be thankful for anything and everything you get or give or even lose this week. Try to be THANKFUL for everything... no matter how big or small!! And remember that lots of people would be thankful to have what you have.

AN AMAZING HOLIDAY BREAKFAST...THANK YOU!!

We had such an amazing holiday breakfast on Saturday!! We had so much fun, and it was great to see so many friends. A HUGE thank you to everyone who came and brought toys for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. It was just an amazing day, and I'm already looking forward to our breakfast next year!!

A NEW IDEA!

Good evening everyone! I just got back from a Girls' Retreat Weekend with my church, and the idea sparked that maybe I could start doing an encouraging word of the week on my blog. I would do one word a week and it would challenge you to work on or do something throughout that week. So without a whole of thought or planning, I'm just going to start.

This week's word of the week is GRACE. The word grace was one of the many words I constantly kept hearing this weekend at Girls' Retreat. It inspired me so much, and it just felt right to do this word as my first. The literal definition of grace is receiving something you do NOT deserve. So, when I hear that, the first thing that I think of is the money, food, clothing, gifts of any type, cell phone and even the home that I enjoy daily from my parents. These are all literal examples of grace... receiving things we don't deserve but just get for being who we are... who we were born to be. But sometimes the things we receive that we don't deserve can be negative things like: cancer, bullying, or even the difficulties you struggle with at your home. But the most important thing that we MUST remember is that grace can help us get though all of our difficulties.
So, this week I really encourage you to be thankful for whatever type of grace you may be receiving this week. And try not to hope for more OR less.

I really appreciate all that you guys help us do with this charity. And I hope you like my words of the week. Thank you so much once again!!

A BUSY DAY!!

What a crazy day we've had! It started with speaking at the Hendersonville Rotary Club this morning to talk about our breakfast next Saturday. Then to school for Macbeth play practice. Next we raced home to film an awesome segment with News Channel 5 that will air next week. A huge thank you to Tuwanda Coleman and the team for featuring us!!! Then, the news crew went with us to Vanderbilt Children's to film us making a delivery. And yes, that's me eating lunch in the car on the way. I was so excited to see Ms. Stephanie at Vanderbilt, and we also got to make a special care package delivery to a friend there who's not feeling great. And finally, back to school to finish the day. Wow! Amazing...and I wouldn't change a thing!
