I had way beyond the best time at the Lifeway Girls Conference this weekend!!  I learned so much and can't wait to see what else it brings.  One of the sessions was on Scripture Doodling... learning how to take the scripture and bring it to life.  I LOVED this session, and I love how it brings the words and the meanings alive and really makes you think about the meaning behind every word.  I wanted to share one of my favorite messages from the weekend.  God made you just the way you are for a significant purpose.  God made you uniquely... specifically... and He loves you very much.  You are fearfully and wonderfully made.  You can know this because He says it in Psalms 139:14.  So remember to put your faith in Him, because if you can trust anyone, it's Him. I hope you all have the absolute best week ever!!
Love,

LET'S DO A SERVICE PROJECT TOGETHER!!

We get requests all the time from different groups asking how they could help us with a service project.  Well, I've been doing a little research with the hospitals, and it turns out that the kids LOVE these Fleece Tie Blankets.  They are super easy to make and perfect for a service project for a group of Girl Scouts, a church group, a group of friends or even a mom and daughter or sisters!!.  So in honor of being recognized for my service, I want to challenge all of you.  How many of these fleece blankets can we make for the hospitals???  Tomorrow is President's Day!  Are you off?  Can you make a blanket??  How about during Spring Break in a few weeks?  Host a service day with your friends or group and make a few blankets?  The kids will LOVE them!!  And you will have fun making them and be blessed knowing you are going to but a smile on a child's face!!.  We went to Joann's after church today, and they have all of their fleece 70% off right now for President's Day Weekend.  Sara and I made a couple of blankets this afternoon and got fabric to make 10 more.  Here's all you need:  1 1/2 yards of two different fleece fabrics and scissors.  Cut the 1-inch strips all the way around and tie them together.  It really is that simple.  There's also all kinds of videos and more details on how to make them online if you need more help.  Let's see how much we can do!!  We will collect blankets if you are in the Nashville area.  And if we get some groups in East Tennessee, we'll coordinate pick-up and delivery for East Tennessee Children's Hospital.  Thank you all for your continued love and support!!  And Happy Valentine's Day!!
Love,

I am so excited and honored to be selected as the Governor's Volunteer Star youth recipient from Sumner County.  I get to go to an awards ceremony in Nashville in a few weeks with others being honored from every county in Tennessee.  Being honored for my service for BOWS & BALLCAPS gave me an idea... more to come...  Thank you again to Mayor Scott Foster, Sumner County Executive Anthony Holt, and everyone else that had a part in my nomination.

WORD OF THE WEEK:  SUNSHINE!

2/8/2016

This week's word is SUNSHINE!!  The sunshine is what lights the world, and others can act as rays of sunshine when they make you happy. When I wake my sister up in the morning, I sing her the "You are my sunshine" song. When she opens her eyes, she is happy. Why? Because the sunshine I gave her made her happy. This week, I encourage each of you to be the ray of sunshine in someone's life. It doesn't take much to give someone a compliment, and sometimes it's just what people need. So this week I encourage you to be the ray of sunshine for the world and in someone's life.
Love,
